ABOUT THE BOARD
Following three years of significant impact and growth, the Barloworld Mbewu project evolved from an in-house Corporate Social Investment project to become a fully-fledged Non-Profit Company with its own Board. A firm directive was made by the Barloworld Executive Management for Mbewu to operate as an independent entity, based on the success of its inaugural cohort.
The Barloworld NPC was registered early in 2021, and the Board inducted on 1 July 2021. It is chaired by Advocate Boyce Mkhize, the Chief Ombud of the Community Schemes Ombud Service (CSOS).
Comprising experts in fields ranging from social and business development through to tax and investment, the Mbewu NPC Board members are well placed to ensure that Mbewu delivers on its mandate to underpin sustainable development through the strategic support of emerging enterprises with promise.
