Dominic Sewela awarded ABASA Private Sector CEO of the year.
In our recent video series called: Leading Barloworld, Group CEO Dominic Sewela stated: “For me, leadership is about stewardship and legacy. Those two things fundamentally define leadership in the sense that if you’re leading people because a baton was passed to you, you need to ensure that you leave those people better than when you started leading them.”
Tantaswa Fubu, Group Executive Human Capital and Transformation, accepted the ABASA Private Sector CEO of the year award on behalf of our Group Chief Executive Dominic Sewela at the gala dinner event on 26 November 2019.
ABASA - Association for the Advancement of Black Accountants in Southern Africa - is an organisation that focuses on ensuring that aspiring accountants fulfill their potential and dreams of being accountants. It is also charged with the creation of a pipeline of leaders who drive the agenda of transformation at higher echelons of management in corporate South Africa.
To be acknowledged as Private Sector CEO of the year is a wonderful achievement for our Group Chief Executive.
For just over two years Dominic has been leading Barloworld with purpose, presence and power. He is driving the implementation of our strategy in line with our active shareholder operating model as well as the roll out of our business transformation initiatives, placing the group in the best position to deliver value in the short to medium term.
He is an approachable leader with his eyes firmly set on the future, supported by a strong, diverse team of employees and shareholders, along with a loyal customer base, there’s no doubt that even greater success is on the horizon.
Congratulations Dominic!
